Eligibility Requirements
- The Santa Barbara Chapter HD Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to high school senior women who are enrolled or planning to enroll in a degree program in any field of study as an undergraduate at a Title IV-approved college, university or vocational school.
- Candidates must be full-time students, carrying twelve (12) or more units for each of the academic periods, either semesters or quarters, for which the scholarship award applies.
- Candidates must have attended high school(s) in Santa Barbara County for the last two of their secondary grade years and have graduated or obtained a GED from a high school in Santa Barbara County.
- Candidates must be citizens or legal permanent residents of the United States.
- Recipients will be chosen on the basis of academic performance and financial need, as well as character, extracurricular activities and community service.
- Candidates must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
- High school senior women planning to attend Santa Barbara City College or Allan Hancock College and eligible for the SBCC Promise or Hancock Promise are not eligible for this scholarship.
- This is a one-time award for use the following academic year.
- The applications of individuals who satisfy these eligibility criteria will be evaluated on a non discriminatory basis without consideration of race, age, national origin, religious affiliation, disability or P.E.O. connection.
Award Amount: three $3,500 scholarships
The 2024-2025 Application Cycle will be open from Monday, November 13, 2023, until Tuesday, February 6, 2024.
